Description
The meticulous savoir-faire of the House of Krug reveals two exceptional and rare Champagnes from two of the greatest terroirs in the Champagne region: Krug Clos du Mesnil and Krug Clos d’Ambonnay.
Each exalts the individuality, purity and intensity of a single walled plot of vines, a single grape variety and a single year.
The legendary vineyard of Clos du Mesnil, protected by walls since 1698, is located in the very heart of Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most renowned villages for Chardonnay in the Champagne region. Its privileged location and small size of just 1.84 hectares (4.25 acres) makes Krug Clos du Mesnil a rare gem.
Krug Clos du Mesnil 2003 reveals the expression of this unique plot of Chardonnay harvested in 2003. The rare beauty and singularity of the year’s grapes are conveyed by the power and aromas inherited from the very particular circumstances of 2003, which made this year so memorable and exceptional.

On the palate, strong sensations and flavours of candied citrus fruit, honey, and quince evolve to a rounded fullness with a long and slightly lemony finish.
This diversity and rhythm of flavours on the palate and the wide range of aromas give Krug Clos du Mesnil 2003 an incredible balance, demonstrating in a unique way the benefits of ageing and the fullest potential of this singular plot while also telling the story of a harvest in a year of extreme climatic conditions.
