Veuve Clicquot

Founded in 1772, Veuve Clicquot is among the most prestigious Champagne Houses. With a demand for quality driven by Madame Clicquot, the House, true to its heritage is proud of its motto: “Only one quality, the finest”.

Beginning with the Bouzy vineyards that originally belonged to founder Philippe Clicquot, subsequent generations – and more particularly Madame Clicquot – gradually built up the Veuve Clicquot property through determination, intuition and acumen to make it one of the foremost vineyards in all of Champagne.

Since 1772, the history of the Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin House has been punctuated with key moments that have forged the brand’s image and its international reputation. From when Madame Clicquot took up the reins of the company in 1805 to the re-opening of the Hôtel du Marc in 2011, episodes in its history (including the creation of the first vintage Champagne, the invention of the riddling table, or the creation of the yellow label) have shaped the codes, audacity and innovation to which Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin has always remained faithful.
